We truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Kally! Going through an unmedicated labor and delivery was the most challenging, vulnerable, and yet rewarding experience of my life — and Kally was an incredible part of that journey. She brought my husband and I a sense of peace, empathy, and gentleness that’s hard to fully capture in words.

Throughout the entire process, she offered constant validation and encouragement. She answered all our questions with care, supported me through multiple rounds of the Miles Circuit, and found creative ways to help progress my labor. She listened closely to my needs and desires, made sure I stayed nourished and hydrated, advocated for me at the hospital, and empowered my husband to confidently support me — something that meant the world to us both.

Kally is everything you’d hope for in a doula. She was an incredible blessing, and someone you’ll absolutely want by your side.

Kally truly does Care!

We met Kally many years ago through a niche sport, American Ninja Warrior! She was an excellent coach and training partner back then, pushing us but also knowing our limits. So when Kally later became a doula, I knew she would be a great fit if we ever started the journey of becoming first time parents.

Throughout the pregnancy, Kally proactively checked in, provided evidence based resources, recommended books and a BirthED Lamaze class (10/10), showed us hands-on exercises and comfort measures, went on a hospital tour, and let me vent at 20-something weeks when a PA suggested I schedule a C-section for [their] fear of macrosomia and shoulder dystocia from a single questionable ultrasound measurement. We later switched at 36 weeks to the hospital's midwife team who had zero concerns and allowed water birth.

All the rapport we built with Kally truly paid off when my spontaneous, rapid labor went from 0 to 60! Contractions started at 4am and were about 1 minute long and 3-4 minutes apart. At 5am we called Kally to say the pattern was consistent with active labor and getting stronger. When her recommended shower didn't slow things down, she trusted to meet us at the hospital ASAP. Kally was waiting for me at the entrance at 6:15a and helped me through strong contractions between the entrance, checking in, and triaging at 8cm! She provided support with breathing, movement, comfort measures, communicating birth preferences with staff, and kept me hydrated while my spouse simultaneously applied needed counter pressures through the last stages of unmedicated labor that ended with a healthy 8lb 2oz baby born via water birth at 7:40am. Yes, just over 3.5hr start to finish for a first time birth!

Kally was fully present the entire time and stayed with us for several hours after birth. She continued to check in and provide postpartum resources and homemade meals after. We are so grateful for Kally and have already recommended her to others in the Twin Cities.

Choosing Kally as our doula was the best decision we made when preparing for the birth of our first child. She has such a calm energy that immediately made us confident she would be the perfect choice to help us through labor and delivery. Kally was so knowledgeable and helped us feel equipped to advocate for ourselves in the weeks leading up to our daughter's birth. As we planned out everything we wanted for a natural labor and delivery, our daughter had other plans and arrived 5 weeks early via emergency C-section. It turned out to be such a blessing that we chose Kally because her first birth experience was so similar! Postpartum, it was so helpful to process the experience with someone who truly understood it. We would recommend Kally to anyone in a heartbeat! Her compassion and care are a beautiful addition to any birth story!
